The Performance of [de]installation: Anne Tallentire in Conversation with Brooke Wilson

Interview with Anne Tallentire during the installation of her exhibition ‘Material Distance’ at The John Hansard Gallery in Southampton. In the interview, we discuss the ideas behind her closing performance ‘Look Over 2’ and explore the wider dialogue of assembly within her practice.

‘The idea behind having the performance at the end is to explore the notion of disassembly. Without giving it all away, viewers will witness, if you like, processes that happen in relation to the production of art and exhibition-making frequently. In the production of work, things are undone as much as done, and I am fascinated by the undoing and the experience that brings to me and the viewers’ encounter with the work.’ - Anne Tallentire
